Looking at Destijl again, I've taken inspiration from the basic geometric forms shown in the composition above. Looking at how they intertwine with each other, the dimensions they create. This has become influential with my design idea for my P.O.S.

Just looking at some tables influenced by Destijl, something which I like because of the basic shapes yet interesting dimensions. It could reflect in my work.

Looking at Destijl it gives me some basic forms of architecture yet interesting dimension which could possibly benefit me with my design ideas.

I chose this structure for two reasons, the first one being its an architectural one and the other reason being it has random gaps in it, in my perception that could be highlighting cosmetics because to me it doesn't look finished yet still in the process of being made. I could take inspiration by creating a stand which has random spacing for books to displayed in. It could look like a unfinished building structure which could highlight the cosmetics of architecture or in other words the building of it through the reflection of gaps. That could highlight the brief therefore informing it although it may seem a little unambiguous yet lateral?

I've begun by looking at a basic architectural structure, in other words a shed!!!
by doing this I think it gives me a subtle idea to reference buildings through the shape, it isn't complicated too; something which I think relevant to a P.O.S
I also think the fact that its a structure, it reflects cosmetics because its in the process of being made. So I could possibly take an idea from this 3 -D form.
Now that I've established the concept of the book my point of sale will hold including the type, which will be floor standing i will look into architectural structures including products and maybe movements to assist with my design.

"Easy to assemble floor standing displays. These displays comes flat packed and are simply assembled in seconds".
www.bladenbox.com
Benefits:
  • Easily assembled, can be erected in seconds
  • Shelves are able to hold very heavy items
  • Consists of digitally printed units
I've looked at this product, it informs me that it can be easily constructed, comes flat packed which suggests its made from a light material, although it can hold a decent amount of weight. It also informs me of the fact that its digitally printed which suggests its method decoration.
The elements analysed through this design can maybe help and inform my inspiration for my own.

" Floor standing display units are a great way to grab your customers attention. This concept can be easily adapted to fit magazines and books." http://www.bladenbox.com/
following benefits:
  • Grabs the customers attention
  • Advertises your logo and brand on display

I've started started off by looking at this concept, it informs me that floor standing display units are a popular method for P.O.S as it is easy to catch the customers attention which should help the distribution of the product.

This design can also give me the idea of advertising the product through a logo or in my case the title of my book. Weather its a novel or encyclopedia.

In my case its going to be an encyclopedia based on architecture which examines the cosmetic surgery of it, in other words the refurbishing or rebuilding of it.

This still links back to cosmetics therefore still informing the brief, although the idea for my book isn't about the cosmetics for human but the cosmetics for buildings. It still references that word so the concept is valid and lateral because it isn't typical and based on the human anatomy.

I think the concept for my book will hopefully help strongly in the development of my design for the P.O.S

As I've finally chosen to create a P.O.S for books I will start off with looking into existing stands not just looking at thier aesthetics and inspirations but also the concepts of them, for example how they can promote my product thier unique selling point, weather thier wall or floormounted. I Will also look at the concept of how they could be designed, the materials ect.

To finnish off, i experimented with the Bluring effect, the one above being LENS BLUR. This leaves a white contrast ontop of the undertone, which adds more depth to the colours . I then elaborated with the noise tool to give it a more static texture. Lastly i added typeography then blended it in using the opacity. This leaves a more thorough visual.

I then applyed the colour burn effect which is a more sharper, brighter tone, baring in mind i've played around with the opacity aswell.
To start off i've applyed a colour so that it give a more bolder visual. The rich colour contrasts with the negative space therefore making it look more quircky. i've then blended it throught the normal style.

As the anatomy is relevent to my NIP TUK project i've began to experiment with the graphics side through applying effects using photoshop. I've looked at X-RAYS to maybe inform my ideas.

I will also experiment with the Graphics of the project as i may want to go down that route.

Adnan:
I've started off with looking at the works of Orlan to gain visual references about the human anatomy which could possibly help me with my POS UNIT. Shapes and forms of the human body could inform my ideas and inspiration. This will obviously have some reflection on cosmetics as the body links to it. Therefore i find my research relevant.
